Our mission

Give small businesses one app for their calls, texts, video meetings and call queues: easy to set up, pleasant to use at the office and on the phone, with data hosted in Canada.

Where Telma comes from

Alain De Blois and Jean Schurger met at Ubity, a Montréal IP telephony provider, where they spent many years bringing local businesses onto internet phone service.

In 2023 they founded Ubi2 in Québec to build their own software. First came Rolaf, a cloud solution for roll-off container rental companies, then Textos, a business texting platform. In 2026 Textos became Telma: phone, video and call queues joined texting in the same app.

The team

Alain De Blois

Co-founder, sales and business development

A technology entrepreneur, Alain has been selling IP telephony since Ubity's early days in 2007. In 2009 he moved 68 Pizza Hut restaurants in Canada and Massachusetts to internet phone service.

Founding president of Rolaf, he leads marketing and sales at Ubi2. He sits on the BigBang committee of the AQT (Quebec Technology Association).

Jean Schurger

Co-founder, technology

A software engineer for more than twenty-five years, Jean was Ubity's first developer in 2009; he built its development team, then became its CTO. Before that, he was a free software consultant in Paris and at Savoir-faire Linux in Montréal.

He holds a degree in systems and networking from Université Paris 8 and is a private pilot. He designs and builds Telma: the web and mobile app, the phone server and the infrastructure.

• Your data stays in Canada. Only call transcription and summaries, an option, are computed in France.
